About Our clinicians

Amanda

Aside from your motivation for change, your relationship with the therapist is the most important. Understanding this, you’ll find I’m relational, approachable, and conversational. My goal for your most authentic, highest self to “be known” by you and by others. To achieve that, we’ll collaboratively look at your origin story, learn about the brain and body, care for your emotional dysregulation, and put an end to those cycles in which you feel overwhelmed and stuck. I believe your sustained wellness takes learned skills and techniques, as well as a deeper excavation and healing.

Originally from Atlanta, GA, I attended the University of Georgia for undergraduate studies, then Boston University for my Masters in Clinical Social Work (MSW). Before opening up Be Known Wellness, my professional experience included palliative & hospice psychotherapeutic care, and over ten years at Boston Children's Hospital serving adolescents and adults challenged with trauma, mood and personality disorders. Gravitating over time towards the parents and adults, I was inspired to open the practice to care more intentionally. I absolutely love what I do-- it's a privilege to come alongside clients in their “becoming known” journey, through which they heal and ultimately thrive.

I can help whether you're seeking support for managing attention challenges, impulsivity, organizational skills, or other related challenges. Clients describe me as approachable and easy to talk to, making our time together engaging and effective. I implement evidence-based methods of treatment, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), among others. As a certified trauma professional, I also incorporate trauma-informed practices to address past experiences that may impact your present. These approaches are carefully tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs, fostering a therapeutic alliance where you can feel safe, be yourself, and receive personalized support on your journey to self-discovery and holistic well-being.

I approach children with the same holistic perspective, while collaborating with parents to create a nurturing environment.
